Visakhapatnam: The postal department is all set to supply 500 ml bottles of water filled with water from Krishna river for Rs 30 on the lines of the 'Godavari Jal' they had supplied during the Godavari Pushkarams last year. The water that will be collected during the Krishna Pushkarams will go through various stages of purification before getting bottled, sources said.
The department of posts has already begun accepting bookings and those interested can book their bottles at the nearest post office. Delivery of the water will commence on August 13.
Sources in the postal department said people can purchase the bottled water through online as well. "People from across the country and those staying aboard can opt for the online booking. However, there will be an extra shipping cost for overseas orders.
Around 8 lakh bottles of Godavari Jal were sold during the Godavari Puskharams last year by the department of posts. The sale of water is part of the postal department's revenue generation plan.
According to assistant director of posts, Vizag Region, YS Nageswara Rao, the department sold 1,39,541 bottles of Godavari water during the Purshkarams last year. For Krishna Puskarams, the department has set a target of supplying one lakh bottles to the Vizag region.
