Divya Ajith Kumar – First woman to receive the conveted 'Sword Of Honour' in Indian Army's history

New Delhi: Divya Ajith Kumar, an Officer in the Indian Army Air Defense, has once again proved that women are no less than men. She has become an inspiration for many others to join the armed forces.
According to a website 'Being Indian' report, Kumar has become the first woman in the history of Indian Army to have received the coveted 'Sword of Honour' from the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in 2010.
She has been bestowed with the prestigious honour for being the best woman officer who led a contingent of 154 women officers and cadets to parade down Rajpath.
Now, she is teaching at the Officer’s Training Academy in Chennai. While setting an inspiring example for other women, Kumar travels to schools and colleges to speak with students and inspire them to consider a life serving the nation by choosing a career in the Armed Forces.
Notably, Divya Ajith Kumar has also kept alive the Indian tradition within her by attaining a master degree in classical dance 'Bharatnatyam' and music. She is also an avid sports player.
