The heavy rainfall hasn't stopped and loss of many livestock and properties are getting affected. Telephone network and power supply affected, rain hampering rescue operations. So far 17 people have lost their lives. The Tawang district administration shall be submitting the complete report to the state government and centre. A massive landslide was triggered by heavy rain which hit a labour camp in the wee hours of Friday. Earlier expressing grief over the incident, Governor J P Rajkhowa Announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs one lakh for the nearest kins of each of the 17 workers. He also called upon the people to remain alert and take necessary precautions as the state was experiencing heavy rainfall. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, Chief Minister Kalikho Pul also announced ex-gratia relief of Rs four lakh to the next of kins of the deceased, Rs two lakh to the critically injured. |
