Chandigarh: Retired IAS officer D S Bains was today appointed as Chairman of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC).

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today gave nod for appointment of Bains as Chairman of PSERC, an official Spokesperson said.
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is also the Power minister had recommended the name of Bains for the post.
He had also recommended Santokh Singh Sarna’s name for appointment as Member-2 of the Commission. Sarna was appointed as Member-2 of the PSERC.
Since the applications for appointment of Member-1 in the Commission were pending, the Chief Minister had asked the state government to restart the process of inviting fresh applications for this post.
