Pakistan one of the most unstable place: Obama

In his farewell state of the Union Address, US President Barack Obama names Pakistan as one of the most unstable places in the world, says terror outfits like ISIS and Al Qaeda pose direct threat to US, cautions against linking terrorism with religion.

President Obama took stock of the nation's condition at home and abroad during his final State of the Union address.  During his address he said that America’s role in bringing peace in the world has grown in importance over the years.  He listed four big questions that need to be answered to secure the future of United States of America.  First, how do we give everyone a fair shot at opportunity and security in this new economy?  Second, how do we make technology work for us, and not against us-especially when it comes to solving urgent challenges like climate change?  Third, how do we keep America safe and lead the world without becoming its policeman? And finally, how can we make our politics reflect what's best in us, and not what's worst?  President Barack Obama, walking a tight-rope walk between projecting an optimistic assessment of the nation's progress during his tenure with the anxieties he conceded have gripped Americans during his tenure.  He also termed Pakistan as a part of the world where instability will continue for decades.  Obama also gave an undertaking to fight to close the war on terror camp at Guantanamo Bay, one of the first promises of his presidency which has been thwarted by Congress.  As expected, after weeks of intense campaigning, there was just a passing mention on gun control in President Obama's address.  He pressed ahead with the address despite a fast moving diplomatic crisis with Iran that erupted when the Iranian guards seized 10 U.S. sailors in the Persian Gulf after they apparently strayed into Iranian territorial waters.  South Carolina Governor. Nikki Haley delivered the Republican response to the State of the Union.  Taking aim at critics who accuse him of weakening American power abroad and Republicans who say he is underplaying the threat from radical Islamist groups such as ISIS. Obama cautioned against playing into their propaganda.  In his last state of the nation address before the Presidential poll, Obama did not miss out on an opportunity to hit out at opponents like Donald trump.  It is clearly time for President Barack Obama to start letting go. And he did just that focusing not just his achievements in the past but also looking ahead to the future without him as President.  He closed his address with a call to fix America's politics so that it reflects what's best in the country.
