NGT bans new registration of diesel-run vehicles

In a significant interim measure to curb alarming pollution level in national capital, National Green Tribunal bans new registration of diesel-run vehicles and renewal of registration of more than 10 years old vehicles.

The Tribunal also questions Delhi government's odd-even formula, saying it may not achieve the desired purpose. There is a multi-pronged judicial approach to cleaning up Delhi's highly polluted air.  On Thursday it was the Supreme Court demanding measures be placed before it by the 15th of December while on friday the National Green Tribunal took some drastic measures to curb diesel vehicles.
