More Assets Recovered From Lockers Of Arrested IAS Officer

New Delhi: Documents showing bank balance worth over Rs two crore, jewellery worth Rs 44 lakh, cash worth Rs 36 lakh besides 100 grams of gold coins were among recoveries made by CBI from the six bank lockers of arrested IAS officer S P Singh.

The sources claimed that the agency is still in the process of recording inventory from six bank lockers in the name of the Principal Secretary in Delhi Government, now suspended, and his family members.
In addition, the agency recovered documents showing fixed deposits and PPF receipts worth Rs one crore, five kilograms of silver utensils, foreign currency over 5,000 USD and 1,230 pounds, the sources said while giving details of the locker opened today.
Earlier, the agency had recovered 31 gold bars, weighing 3.20 kilograms and worth over Rs 82 lakhs, from one of the six lockers of Singh, who has been arrested on bribery charges.
The sources said agency had found 300 bottles of high-end liquor brands like Blue Label, Glenmorangie and expensive watches like Rolex, Rado and many other such labels.
CBI sources claimed that so far, documents related to eight properties in posh areas such as Safdarjung Enclave here, Sector 56 in Gurgaon, Sector 44 and Sector 50 of Noida and high-end construction in Greater Noida which is worth around Rs 20 crore, have also been recovered by the agency.
The fixed deposit receipts of over Rs one crore have been found during searches on Wednesday.
Some of the assets recovered by the agency are jointly in the name of Singh, 1984-batch IAS of AGMUT cadre, and his wife.
Singh, who was the Principal Secretary in the Department of SC, ST and Minorities, was arrested along with his personal assistant by CBI last night for allegedly receiving bribe of Rs 2.20 lakhs for clearing bills of a security firm supplying manpower to his department.
