New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Ashim Khurana has been appointed as Chairman of Staff Selection Commission (SSC), entrusted with recruitments for various government jobs.
Ashim Khurana was today appointed as Chairman of SSC.
Khurana, a 1983 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, was working as Secretary in Union Public Service Commission.
He has been appointed to the new post on deputation basis till he attains the age of superannuation on May 31, 2016 and continuation as Chairman, SSC on re-employment basis with effect from June 1, 2016 till he attains the age of 62 years, an order issued today by Department of Personnel and Training said.
His batch-mate Asha Ram Sihag has been appointed as UPSC Secretary. Sihag is presently Director General (Acquisition), Defence Ministry.
